This was my first time in the MOMA, and the 25 USD fee almost made me turn away, but boy am I glad I did not. Even if it is one of the classic Tourist things to do when visiting the Big Apple, you should do it, I visited a lot of Museums in Europe, and I can say rarely has one been so inspiring to me and rarely did one capture my interest that much and for so long. You will really want to plan a whole day for this. You will see so much inspiring art and milestones in the installation which is truly timeless, from German futurist and Bauhaus style from the 1920s to the Russian surrealists and the famous Van Gogh and Picasso pictures.
